New Delhi Indian badminton star player B Sai Praneeth has crashed out of Korea Open Super. Sai Praneeth decided to withdraw from the Korea Open Super 500 tournament due to injury. In one of the men’s singles, Praneeth was facing Andres Atonson of Denmark, having to retire after being injured in a middle match.
In this match, Sai Praneeth lost the first set 9–21 against the Danish player while trailing 7-11 in the second set. Andres Atonson got the round of 16 because of the Indian player retiring from the match.
Significantly, 27-year-old Sai Praneeth made it to the quarter-finals of the China Open ended last week. Here he suffered defeat at the hands of Indonesia’s Anthony Sinisuka. Sai Praneeth won a bronze medal at the World Badminton Championships held in Basel.
Earlier, two men of India had decided not to play in the tournament due to illness and injury. Kidambi Srikanth withdrew from the Korea Open due to injury. At the same time, HS Prannoy had decided not to play in China and Korea Open due to dengue.
